Come for a movement workshop, nature walk, and art tour at Georgia Tech for the exhibit, Extension of Community: what it means to be sustainable in a digital world. This programming is wheelchair accessible.

During this Playshop, Stephy Joy Johnson will lead an exploration focused on the power of posture. Sharing simple and effective ways to optimize the technology of our body, naturally restoring the harmony of our relationships with self, others and the planet. Josh Wayne will then lead us around the Eco commons, outside Georgia Tech’s Kendeda Building, identifying native plants and mushrooms. The Playshop will continue outdoors, with an exploration of mindfulness and connection followed by a Citizen Science scavenger hunt utilizing our cameras and the app iNaturalist! A tour of the exhibit will also be taken alongside the movement workshop and nature walk. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes, bring a water bottle and yoga mat (or blanket/towel). Water fountains and restrooms provided in the Kendeda Building.

Stephy Joy brings her lifelong passion for movement and expression to her workshops. With over 20 years of teaching experience, her professional training includes classical and contemporary dance, classical and contemporary yoga practices including harmonic postural training, energy healing and strength training.

Josh Wayne began his foraging journey 12 years ago, hoping to find edible, medicinal, and sacred plants. Josh learned how to forage with the help of many knowledgeable mentors in the Atlanta (Pine Lake Eco Arts) and Athens (Wild Intelligence) area as he worked to deepen his connection with the plants and animals that inhabit the Georgia Piedmont.
